  • An entrepreneur, he graduated with honours in Law from the University of Turin in 1979 and earned a Master of Laws from the London School of Economics in 1980. He practised law in Milan at leading law firms, before devoting himself full time to business from 1985. In 1989 he was Chairman and CEO of Pettinatura Verrone (a leading wool fibre processing company based in the Biella area) and an active member of the Unione Industriale. In 1989 he was among the founding partners of Gruppo Fenera, an investment holding company with activities in the industrial, real estate and banking-financial sectors, of which he is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Since 1985 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Credito Emiliano CREDEM banking group, one of the main Italian mid-sized regional banks, listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, of which he is today Chairman. In 2009 he was awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Republic, the Hon. Giorgio Napolitano.
