Marco Villa
An Italian entrepreneur, Marco Villa has worked in the aerospace sector for over 25 years for commercial, academic and government organisations. After obtaining a private pilot licence, serving in the military paratrooper corps and earning a degree in aerospace engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, Marco moved to the United States, where he earned a master’s degree and a PhD in aerospace engineering and a further master’s degree in management.
Marco worked for 3 years as a consultant for NASA and the US Air Force. Between 2007 and 2013, Marco worked with SpaceX, holding the role of Director of Operations. Before leaving SpaceX, Marco played an important role in the effort to develop the crewed mission of the Dragon capsule. Having joined in 2013 as an investor, Marco served for 7 years as COO of Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems. In 2015 he became founder and CEO of Tyvak International, an Italian and European leader in the innovation and production of nanosatellites. Today Marco is Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President of Terran Orbital Corporation, responsible for managing the holding’s revenues, and chairman of the board of the international subsidiaries.
