Mario De Benedetti

Mario De Benedetti is an entrepreneur, investor and private equity professional with extensive international experience in investment management, portfolio development and corporate governance.

He is the Founder Partner and CEO of Superior Investment Portfolio LLC, a U.S.-based investment company focused on small and mid-market enterprises. The company supports businesses during specific phases of growth and transformation, including changes in size, complexity, business model, geographic expansion and organizational development. Since 2017, Superior Investment Portfolio has invested in fourteen companies, mainly operating in the food, hospitality and technology sectors.

Before founding Superior Investment Portfolio, Mario spent over twenty years as founder partner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of private equity funds, raising more than €400 million from institutional and private investors. In this role, he led investment teams across three countries and was directly involved in identifying investment targets in Europe, defining portfolio strategy, monitoring portfolio companies, supporting business development and managing divestment processes. Over the course of his career, he has promoted and led more than twenty investments.

Earlier in his career, he created a privately held investment holding company, broadened the investor base and developed the concept of closed-end funds dedicated to small and mid-sized companies. He also founded Directfin in Milan, an innovative financial lending company based on a credit scoring system, after earlier professional experiences in London and Singapore.

Mario has served on several boards of directors and supervisory boards, including Domaines des Barons de Rothschild Lafite, Alpitour, Europ Assistance, Elnagh, Orfèvrerie Christofle and Assicurazioni Generali.

He holds a degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Turin, where he graduated with full marks. He is fluent in Italian, English and French.
