Paolo Bertero
I have a technical background: I studied mechanical engineering for my bachelor’s degree at the Politecnico di Torino and did my master’s between the Politecnico di Torino and EPFL in Lausanne, where I completed my studies with a thesis and an internship at Rolex. Back in Italy, in 2016 I started working in the company founded by my parents, which at the time operated at regional level. The company operates in robotics and automation for the pharmaceutical sector. Specifically, we design, build, install and maintain robotic warehouses for pharmacies and hospitals. Today the company operates in 4 countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal and Saudi Arabia), 25% of its turnover comes from exports, it has developed other product lines and, while remaining an SME, it has transformed into a much more structured and cutting-edge company compared with 10 years ago. Personally, I started in design and then moved to a more managerial role, taking part in production management, commercial development and the internationalisation of the company, having personally concluded all the dealership contracts with our foreign partners. In the meantime, between 2022 and 2024 I completed an executive MBA at Imperial College London which, in addition to giving me knowledge in management and economics, allowed me to greatly expand my network, leading me to meet a great many people who hold prominent positions in numerous organisations in Europe and around the world.
