Stefano Iacoponi
He graduated with honours in mechanical engineering in Pisa in 1965. In the same year he began working at Ferrari Automobili as engine and chassis designer, track manager for racing cars and head of Special Projects.
In 1969 he moved to Società Abarth e C. as the executive responsible for the Design, Testing and Production of powertrains. From 1975 at Fiat Auto he became head of design of the Mechanical Group, then Director of Powertrain Engineering and, in 1988, Director of Alfa Romeo Engineering. From 1991 to 1999 he was Technical Director of Fiat Auto, and Chairman of Centro Ricerche Fiat until 2003.
He is currently managing partner of Nova Progetti srl, responsible for managing complex projects and consultancy activities for OEMs.
